 The Story of the USS Stein Monster

   The USS Stein monster attack is the name by which a mysterious event is known that was carried out by a mysterious creature, giving us a strange episode since said attack was against a military ship, during the year 1976.

The history 

    In 1978, the USS Stein, a US Navy frigate, during a voyage in the Pacific began to record an unusual increase in sound picked up by sonar, So they decided to quickly return by detour to the base, to keep the crew safe from any attempted enemy attack.

 Already at the base, technicians checked everything, getting a surprise: more than 8% of the surface coating of the somar dome, made with a special rubber, it was damaged, full of scratches and deep cuts, where traces of curved hook-type claws were found in almost all the cuts, After being analyzed by the navy biologist, it was concluded that they resembled those found on the edges of the suction cups on the tentacles of some squids, but said claws were much larger than those reported at that time.

The creature could have been up to 45.27 meters long, leaving nothing of cryptozoology, This could obviously have been a giant squid, reaching such a monumental size in the vast ocean, and the reason for the attack was that perhaps he could have mistaken the ship for a sperm whale attacking it, an unknown creature or not, This is one of the most mysterious events recorded on the high seas, although another theory says that this could have been the attack of multiple smaller and more squid ando that the ship would have passed through a spawning area for these.

As a curiosity, the navy does not deny this fact, they accept it as a reality and consider it one of many mysterious events, There is therefore a documentary about it where the case is narrated, consulting witnesses and better analyzing the case.
