A mythical dog from Myanmar

The mysterious wild dog of Burma

The jungle of Indochina, divided into several countries, is a rich ecosystem, full of life and full of animals and plants of all shapes and sizes, and it is more, these lush jungles according to scientists, could house several undiscovered species, as is the case that we will see below, accompany me to learn about the mysterious wild Burmese dog, thanks for reading, let's get started.

The mysterious Burmese wolf

The Burmese wild dog (Wunbalwe in Burmese) is a small canid, similar to a small wolf, reported in the jungles of Myanmar, especially in the Pidaung Game Sanctuary near the Irrawaddy River in Myitkyina Forest Division and Thayagon in Bago Division.

It is described as a canine resembling a wolf or dhole, having short dark gray fur, a somewhat flattened black snout, and fairly short ears, although it is said among the Burmese people that there are 2 variants of these, one large and one small, this also according to the natives of that area is of a social nature and is presented in groups of two and three and running in silence, but the common depending on whether they live in groups of ten to fifteen.

Its solemn description as an unrecognized species was in December 1933 and since then there have been several records of this creature, from sightings by explorers and hunters, to supposed skins and skulls, in addition to a possible specimen shot in the Hmaingdaing Reserve, in addition to 1998, scientists who studied the mammals of northern Burma provided records of possible smaller wolves living in those jungles, but they were said to be very rare animals, but due to their lack of knowledge in the Western world it has not been possible to photograph or verify its existence.

Currently the lack of information is enormous, it is believed to be a specific type of Canis lupus that migrates from western parts of China, although according to researchers, this possible species is in itself very rare, and I do not know what it could actually be if it exists, theories of its identity abound, some claim that it is a morph of the dhole typical of those areas, others claim that these are simple feral dogs, more daring theories say that it could be a canid close to the wolf according to several tests of alleged skins and skulls or a type of canid believed to migrate from western parts of China, explaining its few sightings.

I have not been able to find information, it is difficult to find it in English and Spanish, the majority being in Chinese, but in my opinion the existence of this creature is quite plausible, let's hope it is discovered soon, thank you for reading, I hope you share these articles that I make with effort, it would help me a lot.
