Monoblastozoans, an enigma in miniatures

When it comes to unknown species, there is usually disdain to only list large and majestic animals, leaving aside tiny creatures, like these small unknown beings that we will see below.

The Monoblastozoa, (Monoblastozoa), are or were a phylum of animals, of doubtful affiliation and existence, based on the species salinella salve, discovered and described by the researcher in 1892 by Johannes Frenzel, who originally discovered them in water samples, obtained from the Salinas mines of Córdoba, Argentina, Frenzel managed to grow it in a laboratory from salt water samples, giving the following description:

"These are more organized than protozoa, but are still very primitive for a multicellular organism, they are characterized by their different parts, anterior/posterior and because they are densely ciliated and more through their primordial conductors, since these present a "feeding and waste conduit" quite archaic, they reproduce asexually and by transverse fission of their bodies, (although Frenzel never observed such reproduction), Its cells would be ciliated externally and internally and in addition to presenting longer cilia and silks in both ducts".

Due to its ambiguous and imprecise description, it has not been possible to characterize it precisely, since it has never been seen Again, its actual existence is considered doubtful, yet it was given the title of phylum, after it was too diverse to be a Phylum in itself.

Despite this, the board of directors of the Munich State Institute of Zoology is involved in a project to search for the species Salinella Salve in Argentina and demonstrate once and For all intents and purposes, this species exists or existed as such, but this would be very doubtful since German zoologist Michael Schrödl led a search for Salinella in Argentina, but he found that the area of salt flats where Frenzel discovered it was replaced by farmland, so perhaps if it existed, it is already extinct.
